Boogie Down South!

Boogie Down South 2024 is a four-day swing dancing festival set in the scenic Margaret River region, offering a vibrant celebration of the music and the African-American culture associated with Lindy Hop. The event features evenings filled with socials and live jazz bands, and days packed with dance workshops from acclaimed instructors Tyedric Hill & Breonna Jordan (USA) and Miya Miyazaki & Josh Varcoe (Melbourne, Australia).”

By day, jump into learning with workshops, including a Monday challenger class and a culture chat with Tyedric and Breonna. This year, we’re excited to introduce two class experiences, Gnarabup and Injidup, designed to cater to the diverse needs of the community and provide plenty of options for choosing your own learning adventure.

At night, four socials with live bands and DJs from Friday to Sunday will keep you stomping for hours. This year in addition to our main Friday, Saturday, and Sunday events, we’re excited to bring back late night. We finish off the weekend with a new farewell BYO picnic for a chance to relax, share stories and memories of the weekend.

Plus, who wouldn’t want to show off beautiful Margaret River and all it has to offer? World-class beaches, forests, amazing wine and food, nature hikes and caves make it a destination worth visiting on their own, before you get your feet onto the floor.
